The Tourism and Hospitality Management Division (THM) of Mahidol University International College celebrated its most recent twin achievements on April 5, 2019 at Charinyarasami Hall, Aditayathorn Building.

The THM Division kicked off the event with a press conference to formally announce its notable accomplishments: TedQual certification by the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) accreditation, both achieved in late 2018.

MUIC’s THM program has the distinction to be the first undergraduate international program in Thailand to receive the TedQual certification. On the other hand, it is the only tourism and hospitality management program in Thailand to have been accredited by the AUN-QA.

Some of the distinguished alumni of the THM Division also served as resource persons in the “Alumni Talk: A Life Curriculum Beyond Hospitality” sharing with the audience how they attained their success. They included Ms. Wisa Benjapornchai, an airline pilot; Mr. Christopher Wright, an English teacher and school owner; Mr. Kongwuth Chaiwongkachon, a chef and restaurateur; Ms. Pattamon Mekavarakul, a hotelier; Mr. Anapat Thanakitpathompong, a fashion designer and men’s clothing store owner; and Mr. Sarach Kamolthornthai, an entrepreneur.

The opening ceremony was presided by Assoc. Prof. Sarayut Supapannachart, M.D., Acting Vice President for Administration of Mahidol University. Assoc. Prof. Chulathida Chomchai, MD, MUIC Dean, along with the College’s executives, lecturers, staff, students, and alumni attended the event.
