EGEW and GSGES Meeting on the Double Master’s Degree Program of Mahidol University and Kyoto University and Interview for Kyoto University, Wilde & Wise Collaborative Learning Program 2017-2018

On 11 September 2017, Dr. Wasaporn Techapeeraparnich, head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. Mahidol University welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shuhei Tanaka from Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies (GSGES), Kyoto University in Japan. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shuhei visited Mahidol University to discuss with program committee members regarding the practicalities and management of the Double Master’s Degree Program between Mahidol University (International Masters Program in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering at Faculty of Engineering; EGEW) and Kyoto University (Global Environmental Studies Program at GSGES). The program has just been successfully launched in August 2017. The first Double Master’s Degree student from Kyoto University in Japan started studying at Mahidol University in August 2017 and the first batch of Double Master’s Degree students from Mahidol University in Thailand will start studying at Kyoto University in April 2018.

During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shuhei and the program committee members also interviewed Bachelor students in Civil Engineering program and selected two outstanding candidates to participate in Kyoto University, Wilde & Wise Collaborative Learning Program 2017-2018: Livelihood Environment and Peace – Studying in Kyoto and Lake Biwa. The program fully funded by Kyoto University will be organized from 21 February 2018 to 6 March 2018.
