On March 19, 2020 at Prachasangkom Udompat room, 1st floor, Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus,
Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, Acting President of Mahidol University, gave an opening speech in “The Brainstorming Meeting to create and increase Research Potentials of Mahidol University”. Afterward, Prof. Wachira Kochakarn, Acting Vice President for Research and Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Narattaphol Charoenphandhu, Acting Assistant to the President for Research and Scientific Affairs, together with Assoc. Prof. Thomas E. Guadamuz, Acting Assistant to the President for Research and Scientific Affairs, discussed rational criteria, the objective of the project, drafted announcement of capital allocation (Block Grant), career path progression, and another related announcement. The brainstorming, identifying problems and suggesting solutions session had been organized respectively.
The meeting had been held for academic staffs who published researches in the SCOPUS system in the past five years. The objectives were to study, collect information, and analyze the problems and the needs of the staffs in the use of Block Grant, which allows several aspects of research to be conducted, including research grant disbursement and practical solutions for the research process.
