On Wednesday 28th February 2018, the latest results of the 2018 QS World University Rankings by Subject were published on topuniversities.com . The results reveal which universities are the best in the world in accordance with the 48 different disciplines. A total of 1,130 institutions from 75 countries were evaluated for this year’s QS World University Rankings by Subject based on academic reputation, employer reputation, and impact of their research included citations per paper and H-index.
This year, Mahidol University made the best performance – skyrocketing to above fifty places amongst the World’s Top 100 ranking in the field of Pharmacy & Pharmacology, while remained its spot in the World’s Top 150 in the field of Medicine. In addition, Mahidol University also maintains the best position in Thailand – ranked 122nd in the World for the broad subject area in Life Sciences & Medicine. These results reaffirmed the incredible strengths of Mahidol University in the fields of Health Science & Medicine and Science & Technology. Regardless of such strengths, the biggest challenge facing the university is sustaining the competitiveness in academic and healthcare/academic services in the international arena as well as expanding and diversifying to this day, incorporating the fields of Social Sciences, Humanities, and the Arts.
