MU ranked best in Thailand and 97th in Asia in THE rankings

Mahidol is the highest-ranked Thai university and occupies 97th place in Asia in Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2017, which rated 300 universities from 24 countries across the continent.

Nine other Thai universities included in the rankings are King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Chulalongkorn University, Chiang Mai University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Lat Krabang, Suranaree University of Technology, Khon Kaen University, Prince of Songkla University, Kasetsart University, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok.

The universities are ranked, using the following key performance indicators: teaching (the learning environment) – 25% , research (volume, income and reputation) – 30% , citations (research influence) – 30%, international outlook (staff, students and research) – 7.5%, and industry income (knowledge transfer) – 7.5%.
