Sriwijaya University Joins Occupational Health and Safety Training at FPH-MU

The delegation from Sriwijaya University, Palembang, South Sumatera Province, Indonesia comprising 2 lecturers and 25 students participated in the Occupational Health and Safety Training on the Phaya Thai Campus November 15th to 16th, 2018.

After individual introductions and an orientation the FPH-MU, Dr Aree Wadwongtham from the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) provided an overview of the Thai health system followed by a discussion, “National Health Insurance: Implementation” by Ms Wilailuk Wisasa, Manager of the National Health Security Office.

The following day to maximize learnings, the group separated in two. One group discussed “Trends and Situations of Occupational Health in Thailand” with Lecturer Dr Wisanti Laohaudomchok of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHSD) Department followed by “Ergonomics in the Workplace” by Assistant Professor Dr Amarin Kongtawelert, OHSD.

The second group investigated, “Surveillance System of Infectious Diseases” with Deputy Dean and Associate Professor Dr Mathuros followed by a discussion, “Prevention and Control of Priority Infectious Diseases, a Case Study of Dengue” with Dr Darin Areechokchai from the Department of Disease Control, MOPH.

After presenting their summarized learnings that afternoon, Associate Professor Dr Chanuantong, FPH Dean, presented her Closing Remarks and awarded certificates of successful completion.
