Mahidol EcoLab and RCLCA at EcoBalance 2018 in Japan

From 9 to 12 October 2018, AsstProfDrTrakarn Prapaspongsa – head of Mahidol EcoLab (EcoEfficient Engineering Research Lab), Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University – delivered the presentation entitled The Characterisation of SiteDependent Environmental Impacts in LCA and Global Supply Chains and was the chair of session Progress in Impact Assessment Methodologies at the 13th Biennial International Conference on EcoBalance 2018 (EcoBalance 2018in JapanAnother two presentations were also delivered by Mahidol EcoLab members – MsPattaramart Makmoon (a student from International Master Program in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering), and MrBiraj Adhikari (an exchange student from the Erasmus Mundus Joint European Master in Environmental Studies – Cities & Sustainability (JEMES CiSuof Aalborg University, Denmark, Hamburg University of Technology, Germany; Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain; and University of Aveiro, Portugal).
The conference participation has been a partnership with the Research Chair on Life Cycle Assessment (RCLCAteamThe RCLCA team has collaboratively worked on the project entitled Network for Research and Innovation for Trade and Production of Sustainable Food and Bioenergy” under the NSTDA research chair grant 2016, led by Prof.Shabbir HGheewala from the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment, King Mongkut’s University of Technology, ThonburiThis research team consists of 10 researchers from 7 leading universities in Thailand including King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Mahidol University, Kasetsart University, Prince of Songkla University, Chiang Mai University, Mahasarakham University and Thammasat UniversityUnder the project, Asst.ProfDrTrakarn and Mahidol EcoLab members have worked on the development and application of a life cycle impact assessment method for supporting sustainable food innopolis and bioenergy industry in Thailand.
