On January 17, 2025, Mahidol University, led by Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, President of Mahidol University, along with Assoc. Prof. Vichita Ractham, Ph.D., Vice President for Corporate Communication and Branding, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, and Dr. Narong Prangcharoen, Dean of the College of Music, Mahidol University, warmly welcomed Dr. Steven D. Eppinger, General Motors Leaders for Global Operations Professor of Management and Professor of Management Science and Innovation, MIT Sloan School of Management , USA, who is renowned as an expert in Design Thinking and Innovation. The reception was warmly hosted at Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The purpose of the visitation was to facilitate planning for the upcoming event “Human Interaction for Systematic Innovation”, which will be organized on January 21, 2025, hosted by the Mahidol Foundation for Sustainability Fund under the Mahidol University Foundation, in collaboration with Mahidol University. The event is part of a fundraising initiative for cancer treatment using cell-based therapies as an alternative to chemotherapy—an innovative approach with high efficacy and reduced side effects.
The “Human Interaction for Systematic Innovation” event marks a significant starting point for fostering international collaboration through knowledge exchange. The highlight of the event aims to apply Design Thinking to effectively address issues and generate new ideas for advancing Thailand’s medical innovations. This partnership with MIT Sloan School of Management—an essential academic partner of Mahidol University—contributes to drive academic and research advancements in health sciences and medical technology. The collaboration also offers Thai researchers opportunities to build networks with international experts, pushing forward Thai medical knowledge to new heights.
