The team from the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orawan Kaewboonchoo, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kwanjai Amnatsatsue, Public Health Nursing Department Head, Asst. Prof. Dr. Artit Phosri, Environmental Health Sciences Department, Lect. Dr. Lalita Kaewwilai, Public Health Nursing Department, Ms. Chenchira Nathathong, International Relations Unit Head and Team, along with two graduate students from the Public Health Nursing Department, Lt. Woraluk Jonglertmontree and Ms. Napaswan Namboonsri, return to their home-base in Asakusa to prepare for visits from two non-profit organization representatives, taking both main events of the day. The first session focuses on “Migrant People in Japan“, presented by Akihiro Ookawa who works at the municipal government as a social worker. He is also a committee member of Solidarity Network with Migrants Japan, an NGO advocating the rights and dignity of migrants and people with multicultural backgrounds living in Japan. Mr. Ookawa has held the role since its establishment in 1997, holding monthly meetings on the “Healthcare and Lifestyle Network for Foreign Residents,” a forum for supporters to share information.
The second session in the afternoon is presented by Mr. Tamosu Nakasa, M.D., M.P.H., a co-representative of NGO SHARE (Services for the Health in Asian and African Regions) based in Tokyo. It was founded in 1083 by physicians, nurses, and students wishing to support, at the grass-root level, people around the world to inspire a healthy lifestyle in both mind and body. It has healthcare service programs in Thailand, Cambodia, East Timor, South Africa, and Japan to develop human resources and communities. Mr. Nakasa received his MPH from The John Hopkins School of Public Health in 1995. August 10, 2022.
