The Centre for Asian Studies (CAS), Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mahidol University, organized a public seminar entitled “Thailand’s Foreign Policy in a Multipolar World” and “Asia in Transition: Building Cooperation in Times of Uncertainty.”

On 9 January 2026, The Centre for Asian Studies (CAS), Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mahidol University, organized a public seminar entitled “Thailand’s Foreign Policy in a Multipolar World” and “Asia in Transition: Building Cooperation in Times of Uncertainty.”
On this occasion, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, President of Mahidol University, presided over the opening ceremony and Prof. Dr. Punchada Sirivunnabood, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, delivered the objectives of the seminar.

The seminar consisted of two interconnected sessions. The first session featured a keynote address by H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, titled “Thailand’s Foreign Policy in a Multipolar World.
The second session was an academic dialogue entitled “Asia in Transition: Building Cooperation in Times of Uncertainty,” with distinguished scholars and experts from leading institutions in Thailand and abroad, including Dr. Fuadi Pitsuwan (Thammasat University), Asst. Prof. William J. Jones (Mahidol University International College), Mr. Ruhimat Soerakoesoemah (UN ESCAP), and Dr. Kesava Chandra Varigonda (Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore). The discussion was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wanaporn Techagaisiyavanit and Dr. Pattharapong Rattanasevee

There were 230 participants attended the seminar including faculty members, students, and the general public, both online and onsite at Conference Room 508, 5th Floor, SH-4 Building, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
