On 6 January 2026, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council of Mahidol University, paid a courtesy visit to the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was led by Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura Na Ayutthaya, Director-General, together with Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General, Miss Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of the Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and representatives of TICA. The meeting was held at the Government Complex, Chaeng Watthana Road, Bangkok.
The discussion focused on TICA’s approval of five projects under the MFA–MU Enhancing Thailand Capacity Building Hub, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions. The projects aim to enhance human resource capacity across health sciences, science and technology, and humanities and social sciences, and are scheduled to commence in 2026.
In addition, the two parties discussed cooperation in medicine and public health in the Independent State of Samoa, including the provision of medical equipment and the delivery of clinical services by Mahidol University medical teams. The possible extension of medical and public health cooperation under a broader collaborative framework to the Kingdom of Tonga was also considered, with the aim of strengthening sustainable regional collaboration in public health.
