On 9 February 2026, Mahidol University was represented by Prof. Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, in an online meeting with the executive team of University of Cape Town, Republic of South Africa, led by Thokozani Majozi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Internationalization.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the framework for a joint Seed Grant scheme between Mahidol University and the University of Cape Town to support the initiation of early-stage collaborative research projects in key areas, including Nutrition; Sustainable Food and Food Security; Circular Technology; Energy Transition Systems; and Waste Management, Waste Circulation, and Waste Engineering, with the aim of addressing global challenges and generating positive societal impact toward sustainable development at the international level.
