Ramathibodi School of Nursing, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, held a handover ceremony for a prototype of perineal suture training model.

On September 15, 2025, Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, held a handover ceremony for a prototype of perineal suture training model at meeting room SC2-222, 3rd floor, building 2, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

The objective was to foster collaboration among university researchers in developing innovative prototypes made from polymer for use in nursing practice. These prototypes are designed to be durable, flexible, easy to use, affordable, and safe for students as they are made from natural materials.

Assistant Professor Dr. Jumpee Granger, Deputy Director for Research and Nursing Innovation, along with Associate Professor Dr. Pasit Pakawatpanurut, Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, gave welcoming remarks. Instructor Dr. Shuleeporn Prohm, Assistant Director for Administration Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute; Associate Professor Pornsri Disorntatiwat; and Instructor Dr. Taevika Choakprasanchai, from the Division of Maternal Newborn Nursing and Midwifery; and Miss Chonvipa Pongsupa, RN from the Learning Resources Center, Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, served as project coordinators. They participated in the handover ceremony and expressed their gratitude for the collaborative efforts that made this initiative possible.

The academic research team was led by Professor Dr. Kalyanee Sirisinha, a research representative from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, who presented the collaborative project of the Materials and Design Unit for Medical Devices and Healthcare (MDMD), together with Professor Dr. Chakrit Sirisinha, Head of the Rubber Technology Research Centre (RTEC), and a team of researchers from RTEC, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, and Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.
