The administrators, faculty, and trainees of the Board-Certified Nursing Training Program at Ramathibodi School of Nursing conducted a study visit to Kunming Medical University in P.R. China to enhance cooperation in nursing between Thailand and China.

The administrators, faculty, and trainees of the Board-Certified Nursing Training Program at Ramathibodi School of Nursing conducted a study visit to Kunming Medical University in P.R. China to enhance cooperation in nursing between Thailand and China.

Associate Professor Dr. Suchira Chaiviboontham, Deputy Director for Administration and Chairperson of the Executive Committee for the Board-Certified Training Program in Nursing, along with Instructor Siriwan Wannasiri, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Training Program, from the Division of Adult and Gerontological Nursing, and Assistant Professor Dr. Jiraporn Punyoo, Chairperson of the Subcommittee of the Training Program, from the Division of Pediatric Nursing, led 12 trainees from the Board Certified Training Program in Adult and Gerontological Nursing, and in Pediatric Nursing, Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, on a study visit at the School of Nursing and Four Affiliated Hospitals of Kunming Medical University, P.R. China, from July 29 to August 1, 2025.

On July 29, 2025, the delegation received a warm welcome from Yangjuan Bai, Head of Cardiology Department, along with her team, during their visit to the Department of Cardio Pulmonary Thoracic Surgery and Oncology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University.

In the afternoon, they visited the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, where they were welcomed by Professor Wei Yuan, Director of the Nursing Department, along with her team. They visited the Nursing Outpatient Center, the National Metabolic Management Center, the Orthopedics Department, and the Burns Department.

On July 30, 2025, the delegation visited the Third Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University. Professor Qiongyao Guan, Director of the Nursing Department, and her team gave a warm welcome and led the delegation to visit the Palliative Care Department and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department.

In the afternoon, the delegation was divided into small groups to present topics of their specialties at the Second Affiliated Hospital and the Third Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University.

Faculty and trainees of the Board-Certified Training Program in Pediatric Nursing conducted a study visit to the Cardiac Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Kunming Children’s Hospital (Kunming Medical University Affiliated). Professor Yuting Zheng, Director of Nursing Department, and her team welcomed the delegation, and they both shared research work and nursing practice guidelines.

On July 31, 2025, the delegation visited the School of Nursing at Kunming Medical University, where they received a warm welcome from Professor Yulin Lu, the Dean, and her team. They both shared and exchanged knowledge in Palliative Care, Older Person in Border Area of Yunnan, and Diabetes Distress Trajectory.

This study visit represents an important academic collaboration between Thailand and the People’s Republic of China. It plays a key role in strengthening networks for cooperation in education, research, and the development of nursing quality. Furthermore, it serves as a platform for in-depth knowledge exchange across various specialties, ultimately contributing to the advancement of healthcare at the international level.
