On 17 June 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, Mahidol University, welcomed a delegation from University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland. The delegation led by Prof. Dolores O’Riordan, Vice President for Global Engagement; Prof. Jeremy Simpson, College Principal & Dean of Science; Prof. Aifric O’Sullivan, Vice President (International), College of Health and Agricultural Sciences and Associate Dean (International), School of Agriculture and Food Science; Ms. Shauna Hughes, Director for Global Relations, Partnerships & Mobility; Mr. Richard Emery,Director, Asia Pacific; and Ms. Christine Wong, Senior Partnerships Manager, Asia Pacific.
The purpose of the visit was to further explore new collaborative opportunities, particularly in the area of One Health with the Faculty of Veterinary Science. Discussions also included the enhancement of ongoing partnerships with the Institute of Nutrition and the Faculty of Science, as well as initiating collaboration in areas such as Seed Grant Research Funding and co-hosting conferences with the One Health network. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Walasinee Sakcamduang Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Mahidol University, and , Assoc. Prof. Chalat Santivarangkna, Director, Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University, also joined the working lunch with UCD executives to discuss ongoing collaboration. The meeting was held at Music Square, College of Music, Mahidol University.
Additionally, Assistant Professor Dr. Nisamanee Charoenchon, Assistant Dean for International Education, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University; Associate Professor Dr. Thienthong Thongpanchang, Faculty of Science; Associate Professor Dr. Duangjai Nakapreecha, Faculty of Science; and Assistant Professor Dr. Teera Chantharotsiri, Faculty of Science, also participated in a workshop session. The session focused on the alignment and comparison of courses between UCD’s School of Science and Mahidol University’s Faculty of Science, specifically within the Master of Science in Chemical Innovation and Technology (International Program). This discussion was held at the Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul Meeting Room, Office of the President, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
