On February 24, 2025, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, President of Mahidol University, together with Prof. Robert Van De Noort, Vice Chancellor of the University of Reading, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to establish academic collaboration between the two universities. In this regard, the ceremony was witnessed by Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, Asst. Prof. Thatchavee Leelawat, Ph.D., Vice President for Kanchanaburi Campus, Ms. Nara Pao-in,Vice President for People Management and Organization Development, and Assoc. Prof. Punchada Sirivunnabood, Ph.D., Dean, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, Mahidol University, along with the team of executives and representatives of the University of Reading, the United Kingdom, at the Sibly Meeting Room, Park House, University of Reading (Whiteknights Campus), the United Kingdom.
Regarding the MoA, this agreement facilitates the establishment of a Double Master’s Program in Society Design and Development, Applied International Development, and Communication for Development, while also promoting the cooperation in research, faculty exchanges, and academic endeavors. This partnership marks a significant milestone in strengthening the potential of students from both universities, thereby enhancing the ability of students to address global challenges and contribute effectively in international contexts.

The meeting was warmly welcomed by Prof. Elizabeth Allen, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Internationalisation), Dr. Caroline Baylon, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International), along with university executives, faculty members, and researchers, at the University of Reading (Whiteknights Campus), the United Kingdom.
The discussion encompassed a wide range of collaborative effords, including academic cooperation on the development of a joint program in Nutrition and Environmental Sustainability, the establishment of a Joint Lab in AI and Protein Alternatives, and research partnerships in key areas, such as Biomedical Science, Stem Cell Research, Nutri-genetics, Agri-food Systems, Biodiversity and Climate Change, and Food Economics. Furthermore, the delegation of Mahidol University also participated in a study visit, facilitating knowledge exchange on research advancements, and exploring various state-of-the-art laboratories of the University of Reading.
