On 22 September 2025, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council Affairs at Mahidol University, welcomed Ms. Anne Glad Fredriksen, Head of Cooperation, Royal Norwegian Embassy in Yangon, Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The purpose of the visit was to review the progress of the scholarship program under the Human Capital Empowerment in Myanmar (HCEM) initiative, jointly supported by Mahidol University and the Government of Norway, for Myanmar students.
The meeting was also attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Pakaratee Chaiyawat, Associate Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, Faculty of Physical Therapy, and Associate Professor Dr. Watcharapol Wiboolyasarin, Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia, Mahidol University. Discussions addressed the advancement of training activities under the HCEM program, with participating students joining both on-site at Meeting Room 415, Office of the President, Salaya Campus, and online.
The Human Capital Empowerment in Myanmar (HCEM) Scholarship Program (Academic Years 2024–2027) has provided scholarships to 47 undergraduate and master’s degree students at Mahidol University. Furthermore, the initiative plays a vital role in enhancing Myanmar’s human capital resources, which are essential for the country’s sustainable development.
