On Monday, 15 December 2025, Mahidol University, through the Global Partnerships Division, Office of the President, welcomed a delegation from Florida International University (FIU), USA, at the Office of the President, 5th Floor, Salaya Campus, to discuss future academic collaboration and partnership development between the two institutions.
The FIU delegation was led by Ms. Julissa Castellanos, Assistant Vice President of Regional and World Locations. The meeting was hosted by Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, PhD, Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, together with Mr. Puttinunt Rungsunlohakul, Global Partnerships Officer, Global Partnerships Division.
Discussions focused on potential collaboration through Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), particularly in Nursing and other health-related disciplines. Proposed areas included joint online courses, cross-institutional student collaborative projects, faculty development and joint research, community engagement initiatives, and the integration of technology and innovation in health education.
The meeting also explored opportunities for scholarships for Mahidol University engineering students to pursue studies at Florida International University, further enhancing international academic mobility and capacity building.
This visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of Mahidol University and Florida International University to advancing global education, research collaboration, and innovation, with the aim of creating meaningful and sustainable impacts on global health and society.
