On March 10, 2025, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, President of Mahidol University, and Dr. Mandy Boehnke, Vice President for International Affairs, Academic Qualification and Diversity, University of Bremen, Federal Republic of Germany, signed a Christian Freksa Scholarship Agreement to enhance the doctoral degree scholarship for Doctoral degree students in Mahidol University. In this regard, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, Mahidol University, Prof. Peter Fereed Haddawy, Ph.D., Computer Science Academic Group, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saranath Lawpoolsri Niyom, M.D., Head, Department of Tropical Hygiene, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, together with Prof. Dr. Michal Kucera, Vice President for Research and Transfer, Prof. Dr. Anna Förster, Faculty of Physics and Electrical Engineering, Dr. Thomas Barkowsky, Senior Researcher, Bremen Spatial Cognition Center, Dr. Rene Weller, Postdoctoral Researcher, Bremen Spatial Cognition Center, and a representative from the University of Bremen, Federal Republic of Germany, came to witness the signing ceremony at the 530 A–B Meeting Room, Office of the President, Mahidol University, Salaya.
On this occasion, Mahidol University and the University of Bremen also discussed the expansion of academic and research collaborations, including the development of Double Degree Programs, the Cotutelle & Joint Supervision Program in Public Health and Engineering, the student exchange programs for both inbound and outbound, the cooperation on Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) courses, as well as the Policy Lab initiatives, and joint research projects in the fields of mutual interest.
