Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, Mahidol University, participated in the meetings, which were held from July 24–25, 2025, at the Diamond Hotel in Manila, Republic of the Philippines. The theme was: “University Excellence and the Next Frontiers of ASEAN Higher Education: How AUN Member Universities Think, Lead, and Manage.”
The meeting featured welcome remarks by Br. Bernard Oca, FSC, President of De La Salle University; Atty. Angelo A. Jimenez, President of the University of the Philippines; and Associate Professor Dr. Thanaphan Laiprakobsup, Acting Executive Director of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) Secretariat.
The event served as a platform for exchanging ideas and perspectives on the roles of higher education institutions within the ASEAN University Network (AUN) in advancing regional and international collaboration, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), through 19 Thematic Networks. It also addressed the challenges facing the global landscape today.
In addition, the meeting included discussions on annual summary reports and a review of the past year’s progress within the ASEAN University Network (AUN). The meeting brought together senior executives and representatives from all 30 AUN member universities across the 10 ASEAN countries, along with participants from other international higher education institutions.
