On November 14, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Poolsuk Janepanish Visudtibhan, Director of Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, presided over the event and delivered opening remarks at the “Nursing Forum” as part of “The 20th Ramathibodi Surgical Forum” under the theme “Advances in Surgical Emergency and Trauma” held from November 14 to 15, 2024. Instructor Dr. Atsadaporn Niyomyart, Assistant Director for Academic Service at RamathibodiSchool of Nursing, delivered the event report.
The forum featured distinguished speakers presenting on various topics:
“Update for primary care registered nurse nurse practitioner on colorectal cancer” by Ms. Sujinda Ladasoontorn, Advanced Practice Nurse from the Nursing Services Division of Ramathibodi Hospital
“Clinical management of LGIB” by Ms. Atchara Phonchai, Registered Nurse, Head of Surgical Semi-Intensive Care Ward from the Nursing Services Division of Ramathibodi Hospital
“Overview of VTE, DVT, and PE: Current evidence-based guidelines for Prophylaxis” by Instructor Sirirat Tanyabut from the Division of Adult and Gerontological Nursing of Ramathibodi School of Nursing
“Complications subsequent to bladder and ureter injury: Nursing knowledge, management, and evidence-based practice” by Assistant Professor Dr. Nipaporn Butsingfrom the Division of Adult and Gerontological Nursing of Ramathibodi School of Nursing
“Surgical complications of PE and the role of nurses in improving patients’ safety” by Ms. Jirapee Soonthornkul Na Chonburi, Advanced Practice Nurse from the Nursing Services Division of Ramathibodi Hospital
The sessions were moderated by Associate Professor Dr. Benjamaporn Butsripoom, Head of the Division of Adult and Gerontological Nursing, and Assistant Professor Dr. Suphanna Krongthaeo, Assistant Director for Technology, Digital, and Information at Ramathibodi School of Nursing.
The objectives of the event were to enhance and exchange knowledge related to academics, education, patient care practices, and innovations in medicine and nursing at the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital. The insights gained are intended to be effectively applied within the respective units to improve the quality of care and patient outcomes at the hospital.
