The study visits to exchange knowledge about working in the community at Osaka Metropolitan University and Division of Health Sciences, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan.
Assistant Professor Dr. Wanna Sanongdej, Program Chair of the Master of Nursing Science Program in Community Nurse Practitioner, along with seven master’s students in the Master of Nursing Science Program in Community Nurse Practitioner (Special program) of Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, had study visits under the RACN 510 Practicum for Community Nurse Practitioner Course, Summer Course, Academic year 2023, at Osaka Metropolitan University and Division of Health Sciences, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine in Japan from June 30 to July 6, 2024.
Osaka Metropolitan University is a leading institution for nursing education in Japan, specializing in providing tertiary and emergency care services. The university is recognized for its Hybrid ER Acceptance Briefing system, one of 14 institutions across Asia with this system. Additionally, they have a modern tertiary general ward that incorporates surgical procedures using an AI system.
The Division of Health Sciences at Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine is a leading institution model for systematically managing care for the elderly. It is excellent in Prolong Care through its collaboration with the government and private sectors in community health care. On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Shio Tsuda was honored to lecture on the “Public Health Care System in Japan,” and Professor Dr. Mai Kabayama R.N., Ph.D., lectured on the “Long-Term Care System in Japan.”
The objective is for instructors and students to exchange work experiences, including learning, providing services from primary to tertiary levels, conducting research in the community for use in work development, and further study in community nursing practice.
