Mahidol University Participated in a Panel Discussion in the APAIE – IAU Webinar: “Internationalization of Higher Education in Asia & Pacific: Current Trends and Future Scenarios”

On 27th June 2024, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, Mahidol University, attended the APAIE – IAU Webinar, hosted by the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE), in collaboration with the International Association of Universities (IAU). The aim of this event was for knowledge sharing and giving information about a survey research project titled Internationalization of Higher Education in Asia & Pacific: Current Trends and Future Scenarios to anyone those interested and from educational institutions in the Asia-Pacific region. In this regard, Prof. Venky Shankararaman, President of Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE), delivered welcome remarks to participants, included the academics, researchers, and representatives from educational institutions worldwide, via the Zoom Meeting Platform.

On this occasion, the executive of Mahidol University also received a research presentation on The 6th IAU Global Survey: Internationalization of Higher Education in Asia & Pacific: Current Trends and Future Scenarios by Mr. Giorgio Marinoni, Manager of Higher Education and Internationalization, International Association of Universities (IAU). Additionally to participate in the discussion on the connection of internationalization, sustainability, and social participation of higher education institutions, with Ms. Helen Kronberger, Head of International Education, Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), Australia, Dr. Meng Xie, School of Education, Renmin University of China, People’s Republic of China, Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed) University, the Republic of India, and Assoc. Prof. Yuto Kitamura, Graduate School of Education, University of Tokyo, Japan.

The Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) aims to advance education through enabling greater cooperation between institutions; to enrich and support international programs, activities and exchanges; and to promote the value of international education within the Asia-Pacific region. APAIE’s primary activity is an annual conference and exhibition. APAIE 2025 Conference and Exhibition will be held in Delhi, India from 24 to 28 March 2025 with the theme “Cultivating Global Citizens for the Future: The Higher Education Imperative in the Asia Pacific and Beyond”.
