Mahidol University Collaborated with the U.S. Embassy Thailand to Explore Academic Opportunities in the United States

On October 28 – November 1, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, Mahidol University, together with executives and representatives from Thai universities participating in The International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP), with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Thailand, jointly visited universities and educational institutions in the U.S., including the Alabama Water Institute, Alabama Life Research Institute, and Capstone College of Nursing of The University of Alabama; the Center for the Art of East Asia, Visual Resource Center (VRC), and Smart Museum of Art of The University of Chicago; the School of Architecture of the University of Illinois Chicago, as well as the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and Vanderbilt University.

Following discussions during the visits, the prospective collaborations were anticipated in academic collaboration, mobility programs on the exchange of students and staff in the fields of Nursing, Media and Communication Design, and Museum Management, the cooperation on Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) courses, while also providing research collaboration in Water Management, and the support for Seed Grant Funding in Biological Sciences, and Engineering and Technology initiatives.

In this regard, the delegation was honored to be joined by Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, Consul-General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Chicago, along with senior administrators and faculties from The University of Alabama, Vanderbilt University, University of Illinois Chicago, and The University of Chicago, on the study tour of various educational institutions in the U.S.

Presently, Mahidol University maintains collaborations with over 62 universities across all regions of the United States of America. This stage reflects the long-standing connection of international partnerships in which Mahidol University has built over the years and its continued commitment to further sustainable collaborations.
