On 16th February 2024, Mahidol University, in collaboration with the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and with support from The Rockefeller Foundation, co-organized a workshop event, titled “Advancing Climate Resilient Livelihoods in Thailand”. On this occasion, Lt. Sorawud Preededilok, Minister Attached to TICA, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, honorably presided over the event, and Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, Mahidol University, delivered welcome remarks to all participants. The main purpose of this event was to enhance awareness on climate-resilient livelihoods in Thailand.
The event featured a diverse range of activities, consisted of some noticeable speeches delivered by distinguished guest speakers, included the “Driving Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration for Climate Resilience” by Ms. Deepali Khanna, Vice President – Asia, The Rockefeller Foundation, and the “Thailand’s Trajectory Towards Net Zero: National Plans and Policies in Tackling Climate Change” by Mrs. Chongrak Thinagul, Dissemination Technical Officer, Expert Level, Department of Climate Change and Environment, Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment. Following the opening speech session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, joint in the panel discussion on the topic of “Community and Climate Action – Multi-Stakeholder Engagement” with executives and representatives from the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Public Health, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), the Thailand Environment Institute, as well as the Mae Fah Luang Foundation.
