The International Relations Division of Mahidol University Held the “Sawasdee Thailand Summer Program 2024”

On 18th June 2024, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, Mahidol University, presided over the opening ceremony of the Sawasdee Thailand Summer Program 2024, which included the students from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Republic of Indonesia, the Republic of Singapore, People’s Republic of China, Republic of China (Taiwan), and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, with a total of 62 students, participated in this course. In this regard, Dr. Phatra Samerwong, Ph.D., Faculty of Environment and Resources Studies, Mahidol University, gave an overview of the program on the Introduction to Sawasdee Thailand for the topic of “Sustainable Life and Society”, and Dr. Sitara Jutharat, Ph.D., Faculty of Liberal Arts, Mahidol University, for the topic of “Culture”. The opening ceremony took place at the Mini Theater Room, Mahidol Learning Center (MLC) Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

The Sawasdee Thailand Summer Program 2024 is scheduled to be held during 18th June – 1st July 2024 for the Batch A, and 27th August – 9th September 2024 for the Batch B. The aim of this course was to contribute knowledge exchange on good practices in Thailand, to encourage the learning of Thai society and cultures through attending cultural exchange activities in various aspects, including Thai Language, Traditional Thai cuisine, and Eco-Tourism in Thailand, as well as to enhance knowledge and understanding on the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), and to drive a mindset on the 17 SDGs among the students.
