On November 12, 2024, Mahidol University, represented by the ASEAN University Network for Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN) Secretariat Office, convened the 17th ASEAN University Network – Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN) Steering Committee Meeting. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, President of Mahidol University, and attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development and Executive Director of AUN-HPN, as well as Dr. Wiwat Rojanapithayakorn, M.D., Advisor to the AUN-HPN Steering Committee. Executives and representatives from various faculties of Mahidol University also participated in the meeting held at Krasae Chanawongse Conference Room, 2nd floor, ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus, and via the Zoom Meeting Platform.
This meeting covered several key agenda items, including the AUN-HPN Network Expansion Plan for international outreach, the work plan of Mahidol University’s Health Promotion Unit, and the synthesis review of the AUN Healthy University Framework (HUF) and the Healthy University Rating System (HURS). Additionally, the committee discussed the work plan of the AUN-HPN Secretariat for 2025 and considered endorsing Phetchabun Rajabhat University as an associate member of AUN-HPN. The committee also jointly proposed ways to strengthen the health-promoting university network, encouraging member institutions to adopt the HUF guidelines and participate in the HURS assessment.
The ASEAN University Network – Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN) Steering Committee Meeting is held twice a year in June and November to set the strategic direction of the AUN-HPN, provide recommendations on various issues to ensure the activities of the network achieve their objectives, and review and approve the application of new associate members into the AUN-HPN.
