On 16 March, 2023, Dr. Phibul Chompolpaisal, Dean of College of Religious Studies, Mahidol University and Dr. Sanjoy Barua Chowdhury, Faculty Member, delivered welcome speeches at the 1st monthly online academic event entitled “Mahidol University’s CRS Religious Studies Seminars”, in which Asst. Prof. Dr. Nicholas Witkowski, University of San Diego, gave a lecture on “Impure Labor and the Dalit Presence Early Buddhist Monasteries: An Application of the Ambedkarite Interpretive Lens to the History of the Late Ancient Buddhist Saṅgha”. The seminar series is scheduled to take place on a monthly basis where international scholars in the field of Religious Studies are invited to give academic talks and presentations to promote a better understanding and knowledge of Religious Studies among 92 students, lecturers, and interested persons.
