The Faculty of Biological and Veterinary Science at Nicolaus Copernicus University, Poland visits The Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University to conduct a study on “Climate reconstruction using oxygen isotope analysis of tree-ring width in Polish Pine trees.”

October 27, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University has a pleasure of welcoming Associate Professor Dr. Marcin Koprowski from the Faculty of Biological and Veterinary Science at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Poland, on the occasion of his visit to conduct a study on “Climate reconstruction using oxygen isotope analysis of tree-ring width in Polish Pine trees.”, in collaboration with Associate Professor Dr. Nathsuda Pumijumnong, Director of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Environment and Resource Studies (International Program), as part of the ERASMUS+ Staff Training Mobility Assignment project, which took place from October 23-27, 2023.

During the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn and Associate Professor Koprowski discussed the progress of the current research on the aforementioned topic as well as other activities carried out within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Staff Training Mobility project.

Furthermore, they explored the potential for future academic collaboration, including exchange programs, student internships, and joint research initiatives (Collaborative Research) involving the academic staff of both faculties – Mahidol University’s Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies and Nicolaus Copernicus University. The goal was to enhance the quality and quantity of high-impact publications and citations in prestigious international databases, aligning with Mahidol University’s research strategy. Additionally, the possibility of expanding academic cooperation into other areas within the field of environmental science was also discussed.

The meeting took place in Conference Room 1215 at the Dean’s Office, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.
