On 5th October 2022, Mahidol University officially launched the Mahidol University International Affairs Office (MUIAO) on the ground floor, the Office of the President Building. Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, gave a welcoming report, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuthamanee Suthisang, Vice President, delivered an opening speech at the MUIAO opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony were witnessed by Assoc. Prof. Kongkhet Riansuwan, Vice President for Administration, distinguished guests from the Office of the President, faculties, institutes, colleges, and centers under Mahidol University who attended this ceremony. Featuring at the ceremony were a sharing session by the representatives of Mahidol University’s foreign staff and a brief office visit by the guests of honor.
MUIAO has been established in accordance with the internationalization strategy of Mahidol University which aimed to be a world-class university. Since there is a substantial number of foreign staff, it’s essential to be concerned about their well-being and the difficulty of living abroad. As a result, the university established MUIAO as the one-stop shop for foreign staff to manage the service system and provide assistance in a variety of tasks, such as handling immigration-related difficulties, managing human resources and welfare, complaints handling, and other related tasks. Additionally, the goal is to create an atmosphere that fosters a sense of belonging and unity among foreign staff.
MUIAO not only facilitates services for foreign staff but also assists Human Resource Officers and International Relations Officers in faculties, institutes, colleges, and centers who are taking care of foreign staff. We offer consulting services, particularly in the area of immigration. Besides, MUIAO also organizes training for staff to boost their ability and knowledge, which will make them work more efficiently, such as visa and work permit training by speakers from the Department of Employment and the Immigration Office.
The establishment of MUIAO is beneficial for foreign staff and Mahidol University, and it will be a vital step for the university to become a world-class university.
