Executives of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) met with officials of several Mahidol University faculties and colleges as part of their collaboration to create a new major known as “Creative Technology” on October 7, 2020.
Assoc. Prof. Chulathida Chomchai, M.D., MUIC Dean, and her team sat down with Wachara Riewpaiboon, M.D., M.Sc., Dean of Ratchasuda College; Dr. Narong Prangcharoen, Dean, College of Music; and Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, and their respective officials at Prof. Emeritus Dr. Maleeya Kruatrachue Meeting Room (A303), 3rd Floor, Aditayathorn Building, MUIC.
This meeting was aimed at enhancing cooperation between the four institutions in their efforts to come up with and offer a new major, “Creative Technology.” This program is the first transdisciplinary program offered by Mahidol University that incorporates courses in computer science, transmedia design, and communication design.
With its combination of arts and sciences, the program aims to prepare its students for newly emerging career opportunities of the 21st Century. In addition, this program offers additional curriculum flexibility to customize individual learning choices using MUIC’s distinctive I-Design electives as well as the program’s electives offered by MUIC, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, and College of Music.
