Social Science Division Holds Second Student and Alumni Meet

In order to continue its goal of fostering good relations between its alumni and current students, the Social Science Division held its “2nd Social Science Student & Alumni Meeting” on November 22, 2017 at the Seminar Room.

Seven alumni talked about the challenges they faced after graduation and shared with the audience the valuable lessons they have learned. Some of them went straight to graduate school while the rest immediately began their respective careers soon after they graduated from MUIC. A current student on her last trimester also joined the panel to talk about her student activities and the scholarship she received for graduate studies in the UK.

Mr. William Jones, one of the Program Directors of the Division, gave the opening remarks while Mr. Kanapat Chalermpanth, another alumnus who used to work for the British Embassy in Bangkok, served as moderator.

The guest speakers were as follows:

Ms. Julie Yvin (Class of 2012), Regulatory Strategy & Liaison Assistant Manager in TSB, London, UK; Ms. Wen Yu Weng (minor in Social Science), Environmental Consultant, Carbon Trust; Mr. Nattawat Theeralerttham (Class of 2012), Program Manager, International Justice Mission, Bangkok; Ms. Wipavee Silpitaksakul (Class of 2013), Child Protection Specialist at Catholic Office for Emergency Relief (COERR), Kanchanaburi; Ms. Pornpun Pupianjgai (Class of 2005), First Secretary, Department of East Asian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ms. Kanthima Sasing (Class of 2011) Plan and Policy Analyst, Office of the Permanent Secretary for Interior, Ministry of Interior; Ms. Paniti Tiengtrong (Class of 2006), Field Associate (Protection) at UNHCR – UN Refugee Agency, Kanchanaburi; Ms. Mareeya Wu (current student on her last trimester), awarded a scholarship to do graduate studies in Marketing at University of Lancaster and Southampton, UK.
