On June 25, 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Porawan Witwaranukool, Director of JBI-MURSON, Thailand, and Instructor from the Division of Adult and Gerontological Nursing of Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, along with Professor Dr. Naoko Nishimura, Faculty of Global Nursing, Otemae University, and Director of JBI-OUIC, Japan, presided over the opening of the online international academic conference “The JBI gLOCAL Solution Room” under the theme “Challenges in Implementing International Evidence-Based Practices in Asian Healthcare Settings: A JBI gLOCAL Solution Room.”
On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Poolsuk Janepanish Visudtibhan, Director of Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, honored the event with her presence and joined in a group photo session.
The conference began with a lecture entitled “Introduction to JBI and the Statement of Purpose of the Collaboration.”
The second session was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Porawan Witwaranukool, Director of JBI-MURSON, Thailand, who lectured on “The Healthcare System and Nursing in Thai Culture,” followed by a lecture from Instructor Dr. Ratchanok Phonyiam on “JBI Implementation & Framework.” APN Rattanaporn Jeerawatana from the Nursing Division, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, lectured on “Sharing Experiences: Developing a Clinical Nursing Practice Guideline for Diabetes in Thailand Using Evidence-Based Practice.” Instructor Dr. Donruedee Kamkhoad served as a moderator of the event.
The third session was led by Professor Dr. Naoko Nishimura, Faculty of Global Nursing, Otemae University, and Director of JBI-OUIC, Japan, who lectured on “Barriers and Challenges to Implement the Evidence Based Practice in Japan,” followed by Ms. Ryoko Ikegami, RN., Chief nurse in charge of Education, Higashi-Ohmi General Medical Center, who gave a lecture on “Implementing the Evidence for Fall Prevention in People in Their 70s.”
This online international academic conference aimed to exchange experiences and discuss the challenges of applying evidence-based nursing practices in the Asian region.
Registered nurses, nurse practitioners, nurse educators, and advanced practice nurses from public and private hospitals, organizations, and nursing educational institutions in Thailand attended the conference.
