On November 27, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Suchira Chaiviboontham, Deputy Director for Administration of Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, presided over the opening of the academic conference “WHICH COMES FIRST: FRAILTY OR DEMENTIA?” held online via Zoom from November 27 to 28, 2025.
Faculty members of Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, as well as external experts, served as speakers to provide knowledge and understanding on medical and nursing development. The speakers also exchanged experiences on the correlation between frailty and dementia, using evidence-based practice in clinical settings. Additionally, the session addressed the care of individuals with frailty and dementia at various stages, management approaches, support for individuals with frailty and dementia, and planning care and assistance for caregivers and families.
The conference attracted a large number of participants, including registered nurses, nurse practitioners, advanced practice nurses, and nursing instructors from various healthcare and nursing institutions across Thailand, from both the public and private sectors.
