On June 25, 2025, The College of Religious Studies, Mahidol University, in collaboration with the Thailand Foundation, successfully organized an international academic lecture titled “The Sacred Groves of Awakening: A Study of the Bodhi Trees of the Buddhas.” This event was part of the MU-CRS Seminar on Contemporary Religious Studies and was conducted online via Webex.
The seminar featured distinguished speaker Prof. Dr. Ujjwal Kumar, Professor of the Department of Buddhist Studies, University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India. Dr. Maxim Voroshilov, a lecturer at the College of Religious Studies, served as the moderator for the session.
This event aligns strongly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 Quality Education — by promoting international academic access and lifelong learning opportunities SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals — through meaningful collaboration between Mahidol University and the Thailand Foundation, demonstrating effective partnerships that support global academic advancement
