April 2, 2025, Santi Maitri Building, Government House, Thailand The Right Honourable Mr. K P Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of Nepal, paid an official visit to Thailand upon the invitation of Her Excellency Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand. This historic occasion marks the first official visit by the Prime Minister of Nepal to Thailand since the establishment of the diplomatic ties between Thailand and Nepal in 1959.
On the memorable occasion, several agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Thai and Nepali institutions, strengthening cooperation in key sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and healthcare. Notably, an MoU was signed between the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, and Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh to enhance collaboration in ophthalmology and medical education. The signing ceremony was witnessed by both Prime Ministers, with Clinical Professor Artit Ungkanont, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, and Professor Dr. Chet Raj Pant representing Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh.
This milestone underscores the shared commitment of Thailand and Nepal to advancing healthcare services and medical education, fostering long-term collaboration for the benefit of both nations.
