On July 17, 2025, Associate Professor Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, Mahidol University, welcomed a delegation from the University of Alabama, USA, led by Professor Dr. Lisa Pawloski, Department of Anthropology, College of Arts and Sciences. The delegation included:

During the visit, the two institutions convened to exchange academic insights, share interdisciplinary expertise, and explore opportunities for future research collaboration. Areas of mutual interest included art, museums, biological sciences, geosciences, graphic design, and existing student exchange programs. The meeting was held at the Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul Meeting Room, Office of the President, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
Following the meeting, Professor Kevin Curtin and his team engaged in further discussions with faculty from Mahidol University International College (MUIC) regarding the B.Sc. in Biological Sciences and B.F.A. in Communication Design programs. The session was hosted by Associate Professor Dr. Chanida Hansawasdi, Associate Dean for Research and Academic Services, and Assistant Professor Tumnoon Charaslertrangsi, Program Director of Biological Sciences, Science Division, MUIC.
Later in the day, Dr. Doris Sung and several delegates visited the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia (RILCA) to meet with Assistant Professor Dr. Narongdej Phanthaphoommee, Deputy Director for Research and International Relations. The discussion focused on potential academic collaboration in the fields of humanities and social sciences—particularly in history, language, arts, design, and museum studies. Both parties explored opportunities for faculty, researcher, and student exchanges, as well as collaborative exhibitions and public forums focused on language and culture. The meeting was held at the Co-working Space, 1st Floor, RILCA, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
This visit underscores Mahidol University’s commitment to advancing global academic engagement and fostering interdisciplinary cooperation through knowledge exchange, cultural dialogue, and collaborative research.
