On 19 June 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanwadee Suksaroj, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, and Executive Director of AUN-HPN, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyapong Junmaimool, Deputy Director for Strategy and International Relations at AIHD and Deputy Executive Director of AUN-HPN, held a joint preparatory meeting in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Manila (co-host), Ateneo de Manila University, and De La Salle University Manila.
The Philippines core team was honored by the participation of Dr. Paul Michael R. Hernandez, Director of the Healthy University Office, University of the Philippines Manila, Dr. Norman Dennis E. Marquez, Associate Director of the Health Sciences Program, University Physician, and Assistant Vice President for Health, Care, and Well-Being, and Ms. Joy Rodriguez-Salita from Ateneo de Manila University along with their working teams, joined the discussion via Zoom Meeting.
The meeting took place at Room 2101, Training Building, ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, in preparation for the upcoming 10th International Advisory Committee & the 4th AUN-HPN International Health Promotion Conference under the theme “Advancing Health Promotion in the ASEAN Region: Championing University Innovations for Equity and Resilience.”
The AUN-HPN International Advisory Committee (IAC) convenes annually with the goal of strengthening collaboration and advancing health promotion efforts in the ASEAN region. The role of the committee is to provide conceptual frameworks, recommendations, and strategic direction for the operations and action plans of AUN-HPN.
