Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, in collaboration with Nong Muang Hospital and the health service network in Nong Muang District, Lopburi Province, conducted a project to develop the potential for palliative care for caregivers of chronically ill patients. The project was led by Associate Professor Dr. Suchira Chaiviboontham, Deputy Director for Administration and President of the Palliative Nursing Excellence Center of RamathibodiSchool of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine RamathibodiHospital, Mahidol University, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Malatee Rungruangsiripan, Assistant Director for Quality and Risk Management. Instructor Dr. Aporacha Lumdubwong, Vice Chair of the Division of Fundamental Nursing, Ramathibodi School of Nursing, was the trainer for the 67 Village Health Volunteers (VHV) involved in this project.
The objective is to promote an understanding of advance care planning by using workshops and visiting patients’ homes receiving palliative care. The project took place on July 13 and 14, 2024.
