On November 16, 2024, Mahidol University, led by Assoc. Prof. Sittiwat Lertsiri, Ph.D., Vice President, along with Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, Asst. Prof. Aphiwit Liang-Itsara, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Asst. Prof. Paisan Sukjairungwattana, Ph.D., Program Director of Bachelor of Arts Program in Chinese (International Program), Faculty of Liberal Arts, and Director of the Confucius Institute (Thai), as well as Prof. Dr. Lin Yan, Director of Confucius Institute (China), participated in The 2024 World Chinese Language Conference, under the theme of “Interconnection, Integration, Inheritance, Innovation,” at the China National Convention Center, Beijing, People’s Republic of China.
The conference was hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Education from November 15 to 17, 2024, with the aim to foster development in Chinese language education and enhance international collaborations on cultural exchange, while also serving as a forum to expand networking opportunities between Chinese higher education institutions and global universities. The event gathered over 2,000 attendees, including Chinese language experts, academicians and representatives of educational institutions from 160 countries worldwide.
On this occasion, Mahidol University, together with senior executives and representatives from universities across the globe, conveyed sincere congratulations on the 20th anniversary of the Confucius Institute, celebrated under the theme “Inheritance and Development of the Confucius Institute — At 20th, the Confucius Institute is in Its Prime.”
