Mahidol University, in Collaboration with CIFAL Victoria, University of Victoria, Canada, Organized the Developing a Sustainability Mindset Training Program – Best Practice in Victoria, Under the Theme of “Mind to Matter: Translating Sustainability in Action”, in Canada

On 9th – 12th June 2024, Mahidol University, in collaboration with CIFAL Victoria, University of Victoria, Canada, organized the Developing a Sustainability Mindset Training Program – Best Practice in Victoria, under the theme of “Mind to Matter: Translating Sustainability in Action”. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Sompop Prathanturarug, Vice President for Planning, Quality Development, and Academic Services, Mahidol University, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Varakorn Samakoses, Honorary Member of University Council, Dr. Thaweesak Koanantakool, Honorary Member of University Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sauwakon Ratanawijitrasin, Dean of the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Assist. Prof. Dr. Pattamapan Lomarat, Deputy Dean for Planning and Quality Development, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prapimpun Wongchitrat, Deputy Dean for Administrations and Systems Development, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Asst. Prof. Tara Vongviriyangkoon, Vice Director of Siriraj Hospital, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nattavud Pimpa, Assistant Dean for Sustainability, College of Management, followed by administrators, faculty members and staff of Mahidol University, altogether participated in the mentioned program. In this regard, Dr. Kevin Hall, President and CIFAL Victoria Chair, and Dr. Elango Elangovan, Associate Vice-President for Global Engagement, University of Victoria, addressed welcome remarks to the participants at the University of Victoria, Canada.

This program is designed for Mahidol University senior leaders and administrators to explore strategies to integrate the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) into research, teaching, operations, and community and society, to build leadership skills and competencies to drive culture change towards sustainability in the university, to apply key learnings to enhance governance structures, programs, and policies at the university to align with the SDGs, and to develop mechanisms for measuring and evaluating the impact of SDGs integration efforts at the university.
