Mahidol University Discussed Academic and Research Collaborations with the Distinguished Delegates from the University of York, United Kingdom, at Mahidol University, Salaya Campus

On 22 January 2024, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, Mahidol University, extended a warm welcome to Prof. Matthias Ruth, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, Prof. Rob Marchant, Department of Environment and Geography, and Assoc. Prof. Richard Friend, Senior Lecturer, from the University of York, the United Kingdom, on the occasion of university visit and discussion on academic and research collaborations, including Joint Ph.D. Programs, Joint Research Grant Funding in Pharmacy, Engineering, Environment and other related fields, the student and staff exchange programs, and the co-organized projects under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) concept. This collaborative meeting was held at the OSM 1, 2^nd floor, Office of the President, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattaraporn Posoknistakul, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Special Affairs, the Faculty of Engineering, Asst. Prof. Dr. Allan Sriratana Tabucanon, Deputy Dean for Education and International Relations, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, and Dr. Jutamas Kaewsuk, Head of the Environmental Engineering and Disaster Management Department, the Mahidol University Kanchanaburi Campus, followed by the faculties and staff of Mahidol University, also gave a warm welcome to the delegation from the University of York.

In addition, Prof. Rob Marchant, Department of Environment and Geography, the University of York, and Assoc. Prof. Richard Friend, Senior Lecturer, the University of York, presented a special lecture on the “Unravelling past Ecosystem-Climate and Human Interactions to guide future Sustainable Development” to the participants during the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies visit. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Paramita Punwong, Lecturer, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies was the moderator for this session.
