Research Discussion between Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, and University of Southern Queensland

On 22nd April 2021, Mahidol University co-hosted an online research discussion on Public Health with University of Southern Queensland, Australia. The representatives from Faculty of Public Health were led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanuantong Tanasugarn, Dean, Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, while Ms. Guie Hartney, Director, International Relations and Global Partnerships, University of Southern Queensland, led the representatives from University of Southern Queensland. This discussion was organized following the research workshop on 7th December 2020, to allow further discussion on opportunities for research collaboration.

Groups of researchers from both universities had discussions in 3 breakout rooms, focused on the topics of; Health Technology and Informatics, Occupational Health, and Health Economics. The discussions have identified several opportunities for research collaboration in these areas, as well as joint funding and grant applications, Cotutelle Ph.D., and joint courses for Doctoral and Master’s Degrees. Currently, Mahidol University is ranked No.7 in the world from Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2021 in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Good Health and Well-Being.
