A freshman taking up BA in International Relations and Global Affairs won an award in the International Leaders Model United Nations (ILMUN) held in Bangkok Palace Hotel and Queen Sirikit National Convention Center from January 30 to February 1, 2019.
Ms. Pin-anong Weesapen received the Best Delegate Award. She had been assigned to a committee consisting of almost 40 delegates from Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Australia, Bolivia, UAE, Ghana, and Cambodia.
ILMUN is a Model United Nations conference that brought together in Bangkok almost 200 participants from numerous countries in order to advance understanding of the UN and global issues.
The participants were divided into five committees and were assigned countries to represent. Ms. Pin-anong represented Peru and was assigned to the International Monetary Fund committee. She negotiated, collaborated with her fellow delegates, and passed a resolution on the “Global Approach to Venezuela’s Financial Crisis.”
