Mahidol University welcomed the speakers and attendees of the 2nd Annual Implementation Science Research Training School on 5 November 2019, at the Zen Garden Training Building, ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University.
Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., Acting President of Mahidol University, graced and honored the occasion with his presence and presided over the welcoming party dedicated to the participants of the 2nd Annual Implementation Science Research Training School.
Asst. Prof. Phudit Tejativaddhana, M.D., Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development of Mahidol University, reported the rationale of the event and the activities involved.
Dr. Nopporn Cheanklin, Executive Director of Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI) and Mr. Gary Parker, Research Manager of the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD), also joined in welcoming the speakers and attendees of the event.
Other notable personalities from Mahidol University who have also joined the festivities during the welcoming party were Prof. Dr. Chartchalerm Isarankura-Na-Ayudhya, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Technology; Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology; Dr. Ruchareka Wittayawuttikul, Director of Mahidol University Library and Knowledge Center.
More than 100 participants coming from 28 different countries around the globe have come to join the 2nd Annual Implementation Science Research Training School hosted by the ASEAN Institute for Health Development of Mahidol University.
During the welcoming party, an array of Thai culture activities and cultural presentations were prepared. These include long drum dance, Pantomime show, playing of Thai musical instruments, and more. There was also a demonstration on how to make garlands, and participants were also shown on how to make krathongs for the popular Loi Krathong festival. The participants greatly enjoyed and appreciated the different presentations prepared for them. The said activities were made possible with the cooperation and support provided by the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Wat Pikul Ngern Secondary School, and Watthabantherngtham School.
