Mahidol University in cooperation with HSRI and GACD, organized Implementation Science Research Training School

On 5th November 2019 Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, MD., Acting President of Mahidol University, Dr. Charay Wichathai, Research Manager, Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI), Prof. Brian Oldenburg, University of Melbourne, and Mr. Gary Parker, Manager of the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD) presided over the opening ceremony for the 2nd Annual Implementation Science Research Training School. Prof. Dr. Patcharee Lertrit, MD., Dean of Faculty of Graduate Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chailerd Pichitpornchai, MD., Director of the Institute of Innovative Learning, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, MD., Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD) as well as AIHD’s executives and staff participated in the opening ceremony at Boonsiri Auditorium, AIHD.

Mahidol University (MU) in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD), and Thailand’s Health Systems Research institute (HSRI) hold a 5-day implementation science school at ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Salaya, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand from 5 – 9 November 2019. There are about 100 participants and faculty members from more than 28 countries join in this training school.

This 5-day training school is facilitated by some of the field’s most prominent global experts and aims to train early- and mid-career researchers about the field of dissemination and implementation science and how to: study and implement research findings into policy and practice; use theoretical models, research designs and measurement; and collaborate and network globally.

The faculty include: Prof Brian Oldenburg, University of Melbourne, Australia; Dr Ed Gregg – Inperial College London, United Kingdom; Prof Pilvikki Absetz – University of East Finland, Finland; Dr Vilma Irazola – Instituto de Efectividad Clinica y Sanitaria (IECS), Argentina & Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, USA; Prof Lijing Yan, Duke Kunshan University, China; and Dr Rachel Sturke, Fogarty International Center, NIH, USA.
