Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry and Chung Shan Medical University College of Oral Medicine

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry and Chung Shan Medical University College of Oral Medicine was held on May 29, 2019 at the Sirindhorn Dental Museum, 1st Floor, Chalermprakiat Building.

In this collaboration, together with the partnership of the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Taiwan, seeks to promote the advancement of the Southbound Policy project which focuses on our aim to advance the knowledge and skills of our health care professionals in order to meet the special needs represented in our respective countries.

Dean Prof. Dr. Waranun Buajeeb represented Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry and Vice-President, Prof. Chia-Tze Kao represented Chung Shan Medical University College of Oral Medicine.

Dr. Chen-Yuan Tung, Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, Prof. Chuan-Hang Yu, Director of Special Needs Stomatology, Chung Shan Medical University Hospital and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pisol Senawongse, Deputy Dean for Physical Environment and International Relations, Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry, acted as attesting witnesses to the signing of the MoU.

This partnership between Mahidol University and Taiwan could greatly improve the health system of Thailand through the advancement of knowledge and the transfer of new technology to the different government organizations and influence the Thai social context that will result in the extension of the best care for people with special care needs.

It is important that improving the oral health for people with special needs can be made possible through this Southbound Policy as more advanced scientific know-how are developed. This is the main focus of this MoU now as compared to the one which was signed in November 2018 as the previous one was made with the main purpose of promoting collaboration in education and research between the two institutions.
