sci2

Two Biomedical Science alumni who had gone on to study at a premier medical school abroad were the featured resource persons at the Science Division’s “Science Alumni In-Focus” event held on May 31, 2017 at the Seminar Room.

Dr. Boonyanuth Maturostrakul graduated this year from St. George University (SGU) in the Caribbean and has been recently accepted to the Internal Medicine Residency Program of Lincoln Medical Center, a prestigious hospital in New York City. She was among the 35 finalists chosen over 5,000 applicants to the internal medicine position.

Dr. Boonyanuth, who had been granted a partial scholarship by SGU, shared with an audience composed of Science students important information on the application process, examinations, academic programs, study plans and other details regarding studying at SGU. She also advised the students about the value of hard work, determination, and people skills in pursuing a career in medicine.

Joining Dr. Boonyanuth was Ms. Natnicha Noppornmongkul, who concluded her first year of medical studies also at SGU under a partial scholarship. She enumerated the courses she took up the previous year and described the academic challenges she faced in her studies.
