The Science Division invited two of its successful alumni to talk about the field of bioinformatics.
Dr. Sirarat Sarntivijai, a Computer Science alumna who is also a Fulbright scholar from the University of Michigan and who currently works as an ontologist at the European Bioinformatics Institute, discussed “Life, Science, Semantics, Ontology.”
The second speaker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanin Nantasenamat, is a Biological Science alumnus and who now teaches at the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University. He discussed “Towards Unraveling the Origin of Biological Activities via the Development of Bioinformatic Models and Tools.”
During their talk held on February 5, 2018 at Room 1502, both of them emphasized how important the field of bioinformatics is and the engaging and rewarding careers that await students who are interested in it.
