Dawei University and MU-Kanchanaburi discuss potential partnership

Rector Prof. Dr. Ba Han and other delegates from Dawei University, Myanmar, were welcomed by Mahidol Univeristy President Clin. Prof. Udom Kachintorn, MD, during the former’s visit to the Kanchanaburi Campus for academic collaboration negotiations on April 18, 2017. The DU delegation included Prof. Dr. Tin Tin Hla , Head of Law Department , Prof. Dr. Myo Myo Myat, Head of Chemistry Department, and Prof. Dr. Kyu Kyu Myint, Head of Myanmar Language Department.

Following the negotiation meeting, the delegation was given a tour by student guides around the campus, visiting MUKA Geology Museum, Botanical Museum, and agriculture demonstration plots. In the afternoon the visitors attended a special lecture on “The King’s Insights: Wisdom of the Land” by Dr. Sumet Tantivejkul, secretary-general of Chaipattana Foundation, and a bathing rite for the elderly to celebrate Songkran Festival.

MUKA currently offers degree programs under School of Interdisciplinary Studies, consisting of seven divisions: Environmental Engineering and Disaster Management, Food Technology, Agricultural Science, Conservation Biology, Geoscience, Commerce and Management, and Science and Liberal Arts.
